Barbie Nesbitt is an award-winning multimedia journalist, editor, writer, translator, and social media consultant.

She was raised between the South of France and Santa Barbara, California, where she studied media arts and received high honors as Editor-in-Chief of a weekly paper.

She is passionate about the pursuit of truth and freedom, and enjoys writing about politics, travel, faith, and family, as well as advocating French language and culture through social media and organized events and tours.

When still a student, Barbie was profoundly affected by the events surrounding the well-publicized death of journalist Daniel Pearl. As a result, she developped a strong desire to help people communicate across religious, political and cultural borders and a fascination with the Middle East,  fueled by her experiences growing up in Marseille, France– a city which has historically been known as the West’s “Gateway to the East.”

She is based in North Carolina, where she homeschools her three children, is finishing up a degree in Religion, writes, and serves as an international exchange coordinator. In her free time, Barbie enjoys the outdoors, knitting, and discussions about the deeper things in life over a good cup of coffee. She also volunteers at her local parish and ministers to people in the paranormal community.

Barbie has worked for The Channels, The Santa Barbara News-press, The Montecito Journal, The Santa Barbara Independent, the Los Angeles Times, Générations Magazine, Capra Press, and most recently, Examiner.com and The Fayetteville Observer. She is the Executive Content Manager for the Massilia Media Project and blogs on Catholic Daily.
