Daughter’s of Jerusalem

When Jesus was carrying the cross, he told the women nearby in the crowd something that relates to the times that we live in now.  Jesus turned to them and said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep instead for yourselves and for your children, for indeed, the days are coming when people will say, ‘Blessed are the barren, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed.’The times we live in now…  Selfishness has taken reign on earth.  People on the left say “If I do not want to bear a child, I shouldn’t have to.  A career is more important.” Back in time if women were barren, it was sought as a bad thing.  Just like the Blessed Virgin’s Mother, Ann, was barren.  Her husband Joachim begged the Lord for a child so that Ann was no longer ridiculed by other people for being barren.
These days we have abortion clinics promoting a barren womb, that it is a disease to be with child, a burden.

All children are indeed a gift from God.  They may not be easy to take care of at times, but there are many graces given to parents to care for the child.  Each child will be provided for by God because He intended on them being here with us.  Society has it backwards.
