Recently, the book “He and I” took on a new intensity for me. (brief conversations between Jesus and Gabrielle Bossis)

This morning, September 11th, I read at random, “If I had another way of bringing you closer to me than suffering, I would choose it.”

Eleven years ago, today, an event happened that was both foreseen and allowed. Foreseen by blessed Anna Maria Taigi in the early 1800’s (See: Chapter 18 – PROPHECY, posted 11-30-2011), and allowed by God.

Now her visions did not become available to the general public for years, so God’s intent could not have been to cause mankind to change its behavior back then. Why did He do that?

I’m a scientist and even before my conversion at the age of 66 I knew that there was an intelligence behind creation although I couldn’t see evidence of compassion.

Now that I’ve been shown that precious evidence, I can confidently say that God is very precise in all His creation. Whether it’s the physical constants that control the ordered existence of the billions of galaxies, the complex DNA codes present in every living creatures controlling all their life processes, or the timing of the appearances of His faithful servant, Mary.

And so, like any good teacher, He will be pleased by any effort we make, to try and understand His reasons for the different apparitions and their timing.

Aside from that original article in Spirit Daily I haven’t seen anything else about Taigi and it doesn’t appear that Amazon Books is getting wealthy from demands for books about her life. However, I was fortunate enough to be put in touch with the priest in charge of the process for her beautification. Perhaps this chapter can help move it along a little faster.

Let’s review Mary’s appearances since the Taigi vision.

Lourdes, France – 1858. God wanted to establish a loving, trusting relationship between Mary’s Immaculate Heart and mankind, before sending any of His difficult warnings through her. He, God also strengthened the authority of the Papacy by having Mary tell Bernadette her title shortly after the dogma was proclaimed in 1854.

Now He allows 60 years to pass in order for us to learn about Lourdes and the healing miracles taking place there and to digest the fact that God exists and loves us. Hopefully we might be a little more open to the warnings to come.

Fatima, 1917. Impeccable witnesses, precise predictions, heroic lives of the visionaries and the useful longevity of Lucia.

Church approval came in 1930, helping America to overcome her reluctance to enter the war (with some “assistance” from Japan.).

The war effort ends the Great Depression. America is united by the Patriotic fervor. Everyone is employed, making good money and we feel good about ourselves. PROSPERITY!

What happens when you give prosperity to an immature, impure people? We were wide open to all of Satan’s allurements.

Knowing how quickly we fall back asleep, He threw in Garabandal – 1961-65 – with an endorsement by Padre Pio and some fascinating miracles worked through the children.

May 13, 1981 – the assassination attempt on John Paul II to remind us of the vision to Jacinta in Fatima in 1917, followed on June 24th, 1981 by the first apparitions in Medjugorje and in November of the same year, the apparitions in Kibeho, Africa.

Kibeho’s visions of headless bodies floating in rivers of blood is confirmed in 1994 during the Rwandan slaughter and the “Third Balkan War” underscores Mary’s plea that “Through prayer and fasting, wars and natural disasters can be prevented.”

Now God doesn’t like to sneak up and swat us when we misbehave. No, He likes to allow everything to get very Black and White, so that it is very obvious what’s wrong, to anyone who is trying to understand how we might be upsetting Him.

On September 11th, 2001, Mary had been talking to us every day for 20 years.

I “stumbled” upon it in 1995. It certainly wasn’t appearing on the front pages of all the “important” papers.

How was a poor god supposed to get our attention?

Everyone in the world was looking towards America and we were setting a bad example and exporting it all over the world.

Perhaps that is why He allowed the attack then. Perhaps He showed it to Anna Maria back then to let us know that if we don’t adjust our behavior to His wishes and aren’t interested in His opinions, then speaking “softly” isn’t going to work. (Got rebellious teenagers?)

Now we have the 10 secrets of Medjugorje to look forward to – the 5th being a chastisement that has been eliminated or reduced by prayer and fasting – but the last three cannot be eliminated. Mary further cautions us not to wait for the secrets – for many it will be too late (conversion takes time!).

“For those still alive, there will be a time of relative peace.”

Is anybody thinking about this? All I hear being discussed is the national debt, security, jobs, and being careful not to let your religious beliefs offend anyone.

Remember that there are limitations on how obvious God can be in communicating His wishes to us. He doesn’t want Heaven cluttered up with frightened ex-atheists, converted by a blatant miracle.

I bet He has a committee of angels assigned to keep an eye on some of the more prominent atheists with orders to report to Him if any of them start to get nervous.

When our current president says we’re not a Christian nation, why waste time being angry with him. Try apologizing to God for the truth of the matter and ask His help in correcting the situation.

He’s been pretty patient so far.
