In the “Good Old Days”, if God wanted to “gently” show His displeasure, He could allow a drought or earthquake or flood to get Man’s attention. The severity directly depended on how deadened His peoples’ consciences had become.
But now Science has neutralized these methods of communication by showing that they are able to detect the precursors of these events and ascribe them to global warming, etc.
I wonder if any of these scientists thought of investigating the effect that the 40 foot high cross on Mt. Krizevac had in eliminating the crop-destroying hail storms in Medjugorje?
Somehow it seems like legalizing prostitution, medicinal marijuana, homosexual marriages, abortion on demand, euthanasia, sterilization, pornography, elimination of any kind of prayer or mention of God , to mention a few – might not be heading in the right direction.
Our scientists’ highest understanding of love is that it is a strong chemical action in each creature which has evolved to ensure the survival of that species.
Small wonder then, that the idea of God’s love, which requires Him to hide any direct revelation, doesn’t seem like a fruitful area for investigation.
God is very patient. He allows the situation to get increasingly black and white to help us see more clearly.
He doesn’t like to shout, but what’s a poor God going to do?

Peter and David have gone through and read the original documents/letters/etc. from historical persons involved in America from the start. They give a history from the Godly point of view – men following God’s will and the resulting blessings; and men turning from God to follow their own will – and the resulting judgments. I am on the first book, where the 3rd generation after the Pilgrims had turned to their own way and turned away from the faith community that brought them there.
The resulting troubles became so great that in 1670 the government of Massachusetts conducted a special investigation to determine why God was so afflicting the people with sickness, poor crops and shipping losses. The GOVERNMENT conducted this investigation. We are obviously a loooooong way from our Godly heritage and now there are few left who are pointing to God’s judgments as a result.
