Be True To Yourself

Be True To Yourself

Don’t wait for some distant day to come,
it may be too late before you’ve even begun.
Not everyone will agree with all you decide.

Be true to yourself first and foremost.
The only important thing in life is what you do
with the time you spend here on earth.

Don’t be afraid to follow your desires,
they are not silly nor selfish.
Take the time and do what makes you feel alive.

Leave your fears and regrets in the past,
for this is where they belong.
Don’t cloud today with things that can’t be undone.

You have no more control over yesterday or tomorrow,
than you do the raging of your passions.
Do not quiet these dreams nor quench your desires.

For if you do, your journey is ended.
You have only today to begin anew and follow your dreams.
For in the end all we have are our memories.

When the twilight comes to us, let there be,
No excuses, no explanations, no regrets!

You Are Very Special

You Are Very Special

In all the world there is nobody, nobody like you. Since the beginning of time there has never been another person like you. Nobody has your smile, your eyes, your hands, your hair. Nobody owns your handwriting, your voice. You’re Special.

Nobody can paint your brush strokes. Nobody has your taste for food or music or dance or art. Nobody in the universe sees things as you do. In all time there has never been anyone who laughs in exactly your way, and what makes you laugh or cry or think may have a totally different response in another. So – You’re Special.

You’re different from any other person who has ever lived in the history of the universe. You are the only one in the whole creation who has your particular set of abilities. There is always someone who is better at one thing or another. Every person is your superior in at least one way. Nobody in the universe can reach the quality of the combination of your talents, your feelings. Like a roomful of musical instruments some might excel in one way of another but nobody can match the symphonic sound when all are played together. Your Symphony. Through all eternity no one will ever walk, talk, think or do exactly like you. You’re Special.

You’re rare and in all rarity there is enormous value. You’re Special and it is no accident you are. Please realise that God made you for a special purpose. He has a job for you to do that nobody else can do as well as you can. Out of the billions of applicants only one is qualified. Only one has the unique and right combination of what it takes and that one is you. You’re Special!

A wife and mother in the eyes of God

A woman once fretted over the usefulness of her life. She feared she was wasting her potential being a devoted wife and mother.

She wondered if the time and energy she invested in her husband, and children would make a difference.

At times she got discouraged because so much of what she did seemed to go unnoticed and unappreciated.

“Is it worth it?” she often wondered. Is there something better I could be doing with my time? It was during these moments of questioning that she heard the still small voice of the Father speak to her heart:

“You are a wife and mother because that is what I called you to be. Much of what you do is hidden from the public eye. But I notice.

Much of what you do is without remuneration. But I am your reward. Your husband cannot be the man I have called him to be without your support. Your influence upon him is greater than you will ever know. I bless him through your service and honor him through your love,

Your children are precious to me. Even more precious than they are to you. I have entrusted them into your care to raise for me.

What you invest in them is an offering to me true, You may never be in the public spotlight. But your obedience shines as a bright light before me. Continue on. Remember, you are my servant.

Prayer to overcome Bitterness and Resentment

Prayer to overcome Bitterness and Resentment

Father, I acknowledge that I’ve held resentment and bitterness against _______________. I confess this as sin and ask you to forgive me. I forgive __________________. Remind me, Lord, to not hold any more resentments, but rather to love this person. Father, I ask you to also forgive ______________________.

Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Do Unto Others

One stormy night many years ago, an elderly man and
his wife entered the lobby of a small hotel in
Philadelphia. Trying to get out of the rain, the
couple approached the front desk hoping to get some
shelter for the night.

“Could you possibly give us a room here?” the husband
asked. The clerk, a friendly man with a winning smile,
looked at the couple and explained that there were
three conventions in town.

“All of our rooms are taken,” the clerk said. “But I
can’t send a nice couple like you out into the rain at
one o’clock in the morning. Would you perhaps be
willing to sleep in my room? It’s not exactly a
suite,
but it will be good enough to make you folks
comfortable for the night.”

When the couple declined, the young man pressed on.
“Don’t worry about me; I’ll make out just fine,” the
clerk told them. So the couple agreed.

As he paid his bill the next morning, the elderly man
said to the clerk, “You are the kind of manager who
should be the boss of the best hotel in the United
States. Maybe someday I’ll build one for you.”

The clerk looked at them and smiled. The three of
them had a good laugh.

As they drove away, the elderly couple agreed that
the helpful clerk was indeed exceptional, as finding
people who are both friendly and helpful isn’t easy.

Two years passed. The clerk had almost forgotten the
incident when he received a letter from the old man.
It recalled that stormy night and enclosed a
round-trip ticket to New York, asking the young man to
pay them a visit.

The old man met him in New York, and led him to the
corner of Fifth Avenue and 34th Street. He then
pointed to a great new building there, a palace of
reddish stone, with turrets and watchtowers thrusting
up to the sky.

“That,” said the older man, “is the hotel I have just
built for you to manage.”

“You must be joking,” the young man said.

“I can assure you I am not,” said the older man, a sly
smile playing around his mouth.

The older man’s name was William Waldorf Astor, and
the magnificent structure was the original
Waldorf-Astoria Hotel.

The young clerk who became its first manager was
George C. Boldt. This young clerk never foresaw the
turn of events that would lead him to become the
manager of one of the world’s most glamorous hotels.

The Bible says that we are not to turn our backs on
those who are in need, for we might be entertaining
angels.

Life is more accurately measured by the lives you
touch than the things you acquire…

God Bless You & Yours.

THE DEVOTION TO THE HOLY FACE,

THE DEVOTION TO THE HOLY FACE,
as revealed to Sister Maria Pierina
Giuseppina De Micheli was clothed with the habit of the Daughters of the Immaculate Conception on the 16th of May, 1916 and took the name of Sister Maria Pierina.  A soul burning with the love for Christ, she gave herslf up unconditionally to her Divine Spouse, Who, in turn, made her the object of His particular complacency.  From her childhood, she nourished a desire for reparation, which grew with her growth until it ended in a complete immolation of self.  It is not surprising then that, at the age of 12, when she was in her Parochial Church (St. Peter in Sala, Milan) on Good Friday, she heard a voice saying quite distinctly:  “Nobody gives Me a kiss of love in My Face to make amends for the Kiss of Judas.”  In her childlike simplicity, she believed that the voice was heard by all and was pained to see that only the wounds wer kissed, but not the face.  In her heart exclaiming, “Have patience, dear Jesus, I will give you a kiss of love”… she imprinted a kiss on the Face with full ardour.
As a novice, she was permitted to do night adoration and, on the night between Holy Thursday and Good Friday, while she was praying before the Crucifix, she heard it say “Kiss Me.”  Sister Maria Pierina obeyed and her lips felt not the contact with the image of plaster, but the contact of the true face of Jesus.  When her Mother Superior called her, it was morning and her heart was full of the sufferings of Jeus and of the desire to repair the outrages the Holy Face received and is daily receiving in the Most Holy Sacrament.
In 1919, Sister Maria Pierina was sent to the Mother House at Buenos Aires and, on the 12th of April, 1920, when she was complaining to Jesus of one of her sorrows, He appeared to her bathed in blood and with a sorrowfulk and affectionate expression (“which I shall never forget,” she writes) telling her “What have I done?”  Sister Maria Pierina understood and from that time, the Holy Face of Jesus became to her a book for mediation and the entrance to His Heart.  She returned to Milan in 1921 and Jesus continued to be her object of love.  A little later, when she was elected Superior of the house of Milan and provinical for Italy, besides being the mother, she became the apostle of the Holy Face to the Sisters under her care and to all those with whom she came in contact.  Mother Pierina knew how to hid everything and the Community is the only witness of certain facts.  She asked Jesus the permission to conceal and it was granted her.  As years passed, Jesus showed Himself to her often, sad and bleeding, asking her for reparation, thus incresing in her the desire to suffer and to immolate herself for the salvation of souls.
During the night adoration of the First Friday in Lent, in 1936, Jesus, after having made her participate in the mental sorrow of the agony in the Garden of Gethsemani, with His Face covered with blood and profoundly sad, told her:  “I wish that my face, which reflects the deep pains of my soul, the sorrow and love of my heart, be better honoured:  who contemplates me,  consoles me.
On the Tuesday following Passion Sunday, Jesus returned to her and said, “every time my face is contemplated, I will pour out my love into the heart of those persons and, by means of My Holy Face, the salvation of many souls will be obtained.”
On the First Tuesday of 1937, while she was at prayer, “after having instructed me on the devotion to His Holy Face – she writes – He told me:  “Perhaps some souls fear that the devotion to my Holy Face will diminish that to my heart.  On the contrary, it will be a completion and augmentation of that devotion.  Souls contemplating My Face participate in my sorrow.  They feel the necessity of love and reparation.  Is not this the true devotion to my heart?
These manifestations became more and more frequent and, in May, 1938, whilst at prayer on the step of the Altar, a beautiful Lady appeared to her carrying in her hand a Scapular, made of two pieces of flannel joined by a cord.  One of these pieces bore the image of the Holy Face of Jesus with the words “Let Thy Face shin upon us, O Lord” and the other a Host surrounded by rays and words “Remain with us, Lord.”  Gently, the Lady approached and said:  “Listen carefully and report everything to the Father:  This Scapular is an armour of defense, a shield of strength, a token of love and mercy, which Jesus wishes to give the world in these times of lust and hatred against God and His Church.  Diobolical nets are thrown to wrench the Faith from hearts, evils abound, true apostles are few and the remedy is the Holy Face of Jesus.  All, who wear a Scapular like this and make, if possible, every Tuesday, a visit to the Blessed Sacrament, in order to repair outrages, which the face of my son, Jesus, received during His Passion, and receives every day in the Holy Eucharist, will be strengthened in Faith, prompt to defend it and to overcome all difficulties interal and external.  Further, they will have a peaceful death under the loving gaze of my Divine Son.
The request of Our Lady was incresingly pressing – but, Mother Pierina replied that it was not in her power to put it into execution.  The same year, Jesus appeared again, covered with blood and with much sadness, said:  “See how I suffer.  Nevertheless, I am understood by so few.  What ingratitude on the part of those who say they love me.  I have given my heart as a sensible object of my great love for man and I give My Face as a sensible object of my sorrow for the sins of man, I desire that it be honored by a special feast on Tuesday in Quinquagesima.  The feast will be preceded by a novena in which the faithful make reparation with me uniting themselves with my sorrow.
In 1939, Jesus said again:  “I wish that My Holy Face be honored in a particular manner on Tuesdays.“  Mother Pierina felt the desire of Our Blessed Lady, manifested to her, very pressing.  She obtained permission from her Spiritual Director.  though means were wanting, she set about the task.  She obtained the permission of the Photographer Bruner to to take copies of the Holy Shroud, as reproduced by him, and also the permission of the venerable Curia of Milan on the 9th of August, 1940.  Financial means were still wanting, but the confidence of the Reverend Mother made up for it.  One morning, she saw on a little table an envelope.  She opened it to find L. 11,200 (my note…. 11,200 lire, which is about $5,000 U.S.).  Our Blessed lady had seen to it.
The devil, maddened at this, fell upon this soul to frighten it and prevent the distribution of the medals.  He threw her down in the corridor and down the steps.  He tore the images and pictures of the Holy Face, but she bore up everything.  She tolerated and sacrificed all in order that thus the Holy Face may be honored.  She was worried because she got medals made instead of scapulars.  She turned to Our Blessed lady to obtain peace of mind in the matter.  On the 17th of April, 1943, the Blessed Virgin appeared to her and said:  “My daughter, be calm, the Scapulars have been substituted by the medal with the same promises and favors…. it only remains to be distributed widely.  Just now, my heart is set on the feast of the Face of My Divine Son.  Tell the Pope that it preoccupies me.“  She blessed her and departed.
At present, the medal is spread with enthusiasm.  What wonderful graces are being obtained, dangers averted, cures, conversions, the condemned liberated. How many, O, how many!
On the 26th day of July, 1945, Mother Pierina joined the One Whom she loved.  Hers cannot be said to be death, but a transport of love.  As she herself wrote in her diary on the 19th of July, 1941:  “I feel a deep longing to live always united to Jesus, to love Him intensely because my death can only be a transport of love with my Spouse, Jesus.”
N.B.  – The words in running writing here hve been faithfully copied from Mother Pierina’s own writings.
INVOCATION
My heart has said of you, “Seek His Face.”  Yahweh, I do seek Your Face; do not hide Your Face from me.”  (Psalm 26, 8-9)
O Holy Face of my Sweet Jesus, by that tenderness of love and unspeakable grief with which the Blessed Virgin Mary beheld Thee in Thy painful Passion, grant that our souls may share in that great love and great sorrow, and fulfill more perfectly the Holy Will of God.  Amen.

Start The New Year Out Right

Start The New Year Out Right

Every once in awhile something really nice crosses your computer screen…like this….. Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

1. Free your heart from hatred.
2. Free your mind from worries.
3. Live simply.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less.

No one can go back and make a brand new start. Anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.

God didn’t promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way.

Disappointments are like road bumps, they slow you down a bit but you enjoy the smooth road afterwards.

Don’t stay on the bumps too long. Move on!

When you feel down because you didn’t get what you want, just sit tight and be happy, because God has thought of something better to give you.

When something happens to you, good or bad, consider what it means. There’s a purpose to life’s events, to teach you how to laugh more or not to cry too hard.

You can’t make someone love you, all you can do is be someone who can be loved, the rest is up to the person to realize your worth.

It’s better to lose your pride to the one you love, than to lose the one you love because of pride.

We spend too much time looking for the right person to love or finding fault with those we already love, when instead we should be perfecting the love we give.

Never abandon an old friend. You will never find one who can take his place. Friendship is like wine, it gets better as it grows older.

Pass it on to your friends . . .
